Three Top Free Droid Apps, Grocery IQ, Craigslist and gStrings Tuner
Grocery iQ®
Grocery iQ® was named as one of the best of the grocery list apps available, so it has to be good right? We tried it out and it is very well put together and has some great features. Of course, we like anything that saves us money so we don’t have to buy Ramen and Mac and Cheese for a month. Times are tough, so anything that can save you money is probably appreciated. You take the app with you to the store or you can use it at your place to scan barcodes to add items to your list. It works more efficiently to walk your usual path through the store and add items as you go along. You can keep lists updated with several devices on one account so that is nice too. If you are sitting at work and you want your wife to pick up soe batteries, you can just add it to the list. You cross the items off the list and everyone is updated. Pretty nifty app that we give a 9/10 for simplicity of use and major necessity.
Craigslist Notification
You like stuff, sure we all do and we really like it when we get it for cheap. So, Craigslist Notification comes in handy if you are tracking down anything that you want to spend very little on. It notifies you when ads matching your criteria show up. It also lets you make templates to respond to those ads. It can even be used to get jobs off of Craigslist. It is pretty handy to have if you are a Craigslist user. There is a bit of a learning curve with this app, not the easiest to use if you have never used Craigslist before, so it make take some getting used to. Avid users of Craigslist will immediately take a liking to this app. 7/10
gStrings Tuner
This is an app for tuning your guitar using sound, pitch and intensity. The app works great and we have been able to tune our base, piano and guitar. It can also be used to tune wind instruments as well as cello and violin. The free version is add based and the pay version is a little over one dollar. This app has had some great feedback from the music community. It’s really helpful and is one of the better guitar tuning apps out there. My droid phone cost me more than my guitar so there is a smidge of irony there, but the guitar sounds great now. It made tuning it a lot faster than doing it with the net or a piano. Great app 10/10. It’s bugged out on some Motorola phones, but that isn’t the developer’s fault. It is a technical glitch. This app is great.
