We all share our photos in social network websites often. You can also share animated gifs in the same way using GIF Camera app for Android. The app let you create animated gifs using your phone camera easily. You can either use photos from your local storage or capture images directly using the camera. GIF Camera app for Android let you create animated GIF files in an instant. After firing up GIF Camera app, you’ll be taken to the main menu that has four buttons. These buttons let you create/edit GIF. In fact, you’ll also find two small buttons, for viewing app settings and developer info. To create GIF, you got to select between “Make GIF” and “From Local” buttons. If you choose the first one, you’ll be prompted to record a short video clip. Depending upon app settings and frame rate, the duration of the clip may vary. That is, if you choose to record a video with only 12 frames, the app will use those frames to create an animated GIF. From preferred ‘fps’ settings, you can adjust the speed of the image. It is also possible to reverse the animation of your image. However, you’ll miss a tool to insert some text or caption to the animation.

The second option – the Local’ button – let you can create GIF from locally stored images. Simply pick the images you want, meanwhile ensuring that they are in the right order. Once done, adjust the speed of the GIF and you’re ready to share it with your friends via Facebook or Twitter. Interestingly, the app comes with a large collection of funny GIFs. You can also upload your creations to app’s official photo sharing community called ‘listen5’. But you can’t do that from the app unfortunately. You got to go through the web route by registering using Facebook account.

Conclusion

GIF Camera app for Android might not have the best user interface. But it does what it is designed to do, and it does it quite neatly as well. You can adjust the frame rates to suit your requirements even though setting higher frame rates might crash Android GIF Camera app at times. The sharing options come handy. Verdict: Worth trying out.
