Hovering Controls Free App for Android Review
Hovering Controls brings some Samsung-like air gestures to other Android phones. It basically let you control features of the phone by waving one’s hand in front of the proximity sensor. You can get Hovering Controls Android app for free of cost from Google Play Store.
Hovering Controls Features
Hovering Controls app for Android let you activate a pre-selected app by simply hovering your hand over the phone’s proximity sensor for few seconds. Similarly, you can open pre-determined apps by swiping once or twice. Putting the phone into silence mode or ringtone is also done in a similar manner. You can also control your media playback this way, allowing you to change to the next or previous song or video without ever turning on the phone screen and physically touching it.
Hovering Controls Android app also has a Carousel mode wherein you can scroll through several apps by waving a hand in front of the proximity sensor with a single swipe. For example, if you got five apps: Twitter, Google+, Facebook, Dropbox, and Flipbook, you can easily change from one app to another by simply swiping a hand in front of the screen. You also have an option to activate an app by simply swiping your hand one way across the proximity sensor and back the other way. While using the app, it was found that the single swipe action is pretty sensitive. You might activate another app inadvertently with the slightest of movement of your hand. For reliability, hence it is advisable to use the double swipe gesture so that you don’t end up accidentally changing apps.
But if you decide to hide notification icon, the service may stop working if android needs memory resources (it will stop detecting events) for a while until it is restarted by its own. The UI is well designed.
Conclusion
Hovering Controls app for Android let you use your smartphone without touching its screen to an extent. Using the app, you can put the ring to silent, activate the music player app, choose any app, lock/unlock screen, answer an incoming call etc with a simply swipe of your hand. The app is easy to set up. The UI is user friendly for most parts. It has some glitches, but none is a deal breaker though. Verdict; Check it out.
