Do you happen to keep important documents in your phone? Or are you constantly worried that someone else will catch a peep into your confidential emails, photos or videos? If so, try this one out: ZDlock, a mobile securityapp for Android. It can be downloaded free from Google Play Store.

ZDlock App Features

ZDlock app for Android let you lock down your files and pictures using a 4-digit PIN. It also let you fake a crash dialogue cover to prevent others from entering, and only you know the crack method. ZDlock app prevents unauthorized people from accessing and uninstalling your apps. ZDlock operation is pretty simply. Once you download and install the app, you’ll be prompted to create a master password. It could be a four digit PIN (a number lock) or a pattern. Once you set the password/pattern, you only have to choose the apps you might want to lock. Now you go to each app’s settings and change or update its default preferences. You can also enable or disable the app’s fake crash dialogue or fake covers from here. It should be kept in mind that the master password that you’d set will apply to all your locked apps. In other words, you can’t have a separate password/pattern for each of your apps. In order to app ‘fake cover’ to an app, select the app and swipe it to the right until you see the message ‘Added Cover’. The same procedure applies to removing an app’s fake crash dialogue.

An interesting thing about ZDlock is that the app itself can be locked. Also you can lock the system uninstaller that none could uninstall apps from your phone without your consent. On the flip side, there is only one password and it is only 4-digit long. There is no multi-level protection. ZDlock app is compatible with Android OS versions 2.0 or higher.

Conclusion

ZDlock app for Android is a reliable enough app locker. It has all essential features/options that you might need to secure your apps. It is also pretty easy to use. Setting up the app is a cake walk. Interestingly, ZDlock itself can be locked. It can also lock the system uninstaller so that none could uninstall your apps sans your knowledge. However, it would have been better had it supported passwords that are more than four digits/characters long.
