Using password protection or a fingerprint sensor on a device may defend all the information stored on it, but what about the times others have access to the device? For those who wish to protect their photos, passwords, notes, and more, there is a new app called Folder Lock Advanced for Android. There are many reasons to password protect folders and media like adult content and private information. Folder Lock Advanced is available for free download from Google Play.

When Folder Lock Advanced for Android is installed, it looks like a regular folder icon on the home screen. Tapping on the icon opens the folder, and users are required to set a 4 digit pass code by tapping on or dragging a finger transversely on the icons on the screen. The app offers to backup this pass code to email, too. This is greatly recommended since users won’t be able to access Folder Lock Advanced without it. The app menu on the left includes all the information that users can protect like photos and videos, notes, browsing, contacts, passwords, to-dos, location, audio, downloads, and secret messages. Each option features a lesson that assists users figure out how to guard their information along with an option for additional pass code protection and a way to personalize and systematize folders. For example, secret messages open up a separate message box that imports original contacts and encodes and decodes texts. It’s a little unwieldy to use at first, but it isn’t long before users know how to protect everything on their phone.

There’s a lot packed into Folder Lock Advanced for Android like an anti-intruder system to capture a picture of those who try to use the app, a scrutiny system for those who enter the pass code or pattern wrong three times, self-destruction mode that erases all data, and a panic system that instantly switches the app to another with a flick, shake, or facedown motion. Folder Lock Advanced inconspicuously protects secret media and information and comes with an advanced safekeeping system to keep prying eyes from uncovering personal information.

Conclusion

Of course, there are a few downfalls to using Folder Lock Advanced Android app. One is that pass codes cannot be recovered, ever. Another is that all actions with contacts such as calls, SMS, email, and Facetime stay in the original call log and must be deleted manually. Furthermore, photos also need to be deleted from the camera roll after importing them into Folder Lock Advanced.
