Free game apps at Blackberry App World are held much different standard than Android and iTunes.  We’re not sure if it’s because not many people are developing for Blackberry’s or if Blackberry users are ok being handed substandard apps, but these are the top twenty free game apps at the Blackberry App World right now.  Don’t get us wrong, not trying to be snooty, but they really are getting behind on their free selection and focusing more on the quality of the paid apps.  Another trend we noticed is that these apps are more geared for kids of a young age.

Memory

Car matching game like you remember it, you can set the difficulty level.  Your kids will love it.

The River Test

This game is a famous logic test that basically doesn’t really need an app, but it does make it more interesting.  If you like very difficult logic problems then you will like it.

Hangman

Correctly guess the right words one letter at a time to prevent a nervous little character from an untimely end.

Copter

Atari 2600 style graphics, ridiculously easy, really not a good game, wouldn’t suggest downloading it.

Pixelated

This is actually a very tricky game.  Clear the screen of blocks in less than 21 moves.  As puzzle games go, it was decent.

Ka-Glom

This has been a classic app for sometime.  Great game, worth the download because the graphics are higher quality, the game play is entertaining and fast.

Superheroes Alliance

Not really our style, but if you love boring games then you should totally get this.  A bit snarky, but a lot more could have gone into this game to make it at least look better.  You’ll also know immediately that a game is bad when you read through 2000 comments are that it is a great time waster.  You don’t really want a time waster in a game right?  You want something fun and memorable and sure, killing time is great, but do it with a more entertaining app than this one.

Color Virus

Blackberry must love puzzle apps because here is another free offering from a puzzle app developer.  Color virus looks and feels like an upgrade from Pixelated.

Free Chess

One of the better free app games at the Blackberry App World.  It’s hard to mess up chess and SolverLabs developed a good game here.

Blackberry has some great games, but you’ll have to go to their paid section to find them.  Most of the popular free apps for the Blackberry are there to boost their numbers of apps, but they have an obvious focus on making money from their apps and keep their free ones as substandard.  Utility and Productivity apps are much better in quality for the Blackberry even when they are free.
