Confide app for iPhone Review

| December 3, 2016 | 0 Comments

Confide for iPhone is a Snapchat like texting app wherein the word disappear after being read. It combines end-to-end encryption with disappearing and screenshot-protected messages to ensure your private communication remains private always. You can get the basic app for free from iTunes.

Features

Confide app for iPhone offers off-the-record and self-destructing communication with text messages instead of images. Setting up the app is easy. But you got to give it permission to access your email contacts and connect to Facebook. It is an irony that a private centric app requires access to your social contacts. But if you can get over that, Confide comes across as just another messaging app, but with some unique features. Composing a message is similar to writing an email, with a line for the recipients, subject and message. On the other end, the text is censored at first, and revealed only one word at a time as the person scrolls over the message. It is a bit inconvenient in that the recipient has to memorize the text as they read it. So it is not ideal for long messages.

Once it is viewed, it is gone forever. When the recipient sees the message, the sender receives a confirmation of the same. Confide is also screenshot proof as you can’t capture a screenshot with more than one word at any given time. Further, if you attempt to take a screenshot, the message is immediately destroyed. It should be noted that you can’t attach images, videos or audios in your Confide message. It is just plan end-to-end encrypted texting and nothing more. The UI is easy to use. The app is also reasonably stable and responsive. It also supports multiple languages including German, Hindi, and Turkish. Confide app requires iOS 8.0+.

Conclusion

Confide for iPhone is not a feature rich app. But it delivers what it promises, and that is secrecy and privacy. It is perfect to send those off-the-record conversations that you don’t want the recipient to preserve, even if he wishes so. Since it is also screenshot proof, you can ensure that your secrete message is not recorded at any stage of the communication. End-to-end encryption takes care of message security. Multiple language support comes handy to non-English natives mainly. Check it out if you are scouting for a messaging app that allows you to send self-destructing messages.
