Confide app for iPhone offers off-the-record and self-destructing communication with text messages instead of images. Setting up the app is easy. But you got to give it permission to access your email contacts and connect to Facebook. It is an irony that a private centric app requires access to your social contacts. But if you can get over that, Confide comes across as just another messaging app, but with some unique features. Composing a message is similar to writing an email, with a line for the recipients, subject and message. On the other end, the text is censored at first, and revealed only one word at a time as the person scrolls over the message. It is a bit inconvenient in that the recipient has to memorize the text as they read it. So it is not ideal for long messages.
