Podcasts is Apple’s default podcast app. Even though largely barebones, the app still let you discover hundreds of thousands of downloadable podcasts, follow them, and even subscribe to your favorites to get free updates. Podcasts app comes as a standard installation in your iPhone.

Features

Podcasts for iPhone has a simple design when compared with other third party podcast apps in iTunes. It is attractive, but a bit over designed in places. The playback interface that resembles an old school tape deck is a bit odd, while the “top stations” section is extremely slow to scroll through. The iTunes like interface for adding podcasts is easy to use and simplifies your task of finding new podcasts. The app will import your podcast subscriptions, but does not sync them between iDevices. It also brings long requested support for streaming podcasts. If you are new to concept of podcasts, check out the ‘featured’ section, wherein you can find interesting new shows that cover a wide variety of topics.
