Bebop Puzzle Beat iPhone Game App Review

| July 30, 2016 | 0 Comments

Bebop Puzzle Beat for iPhone is a new take on the typical matching puzzle game. If you are a fan of Jazz, then you’ll love this game as the entire action revolves around it. You can get Bebop Puzzle Beat for free from iTunes App Store.

Features

Bebop Puzzle Beat for iPhone has beautiful and stylish graphics. The cartoonish visuals are rather charming. The typography gives it an old school retro feel. The colors are all vibrant and bright, and all contrast with each other so that it is easy to tell the pieces apart. The animations are slick and smooth, while the soundtrack is upbeat and catchy, as you’d expect from a jazz themed game. Typical of puzzle games, you’re expected to progress through the levels one-by-one. It features six different worlds to explore, with each of them being inspired by the 1940s era, and it got a total of 120 stages. In the game, you have to join Bosco, Hot, Miles, and Jelly on a journey to save Mila, a lovely singer, from evil. While the goal in each level is to make matches, you got to meet a different objective in each level before you’d be able to progress. This could be anything from ‘getting 500 points in 60 seconds to ‘destroying 10 green tiles in 90 seconds’ before you reach challenging boss battles.

Based on your performance, you can earn up to three musical notes per stage. The bar at the bottom of the screen shows your progress threshold. The controls are simple and easy to grasp, even though we would have liked it to be more optimized and responsive. We also found the tap-to-select gesture at times does not register our taps so that some of the pieces remained unselected during the game play. Hopefully, the developer will fix such small issues in the forthcoming releases.

Conclusion

If you like the match-three genre, but want something fresh and exciting, Bebop Puzzle Beat for iPhone is worth a look in. The game play is challenging, yet fun. The graphics is decent, while the soundtrack is appealing. The controls are intuitive, even though its responsiveness quotient is not up to the mark. At present, the game has no Game Center integration for leaderboards or achievements either. The animations are smooth however. Check it out if you’re scouting for a fun to play matching game in a new avatar.
