Climatip App Features

If you like simplicity over flashy graphics and animations, you’ll love Climatip app for Android. According to its developers, a color, an icon and a short tip about clothes is all you need to know to wear the perfect outfit for the day. Climatip provides you only that. The best part of Climatip for Android is its simplicity: there is nothing to configure or set up, no location settings to enter or no accounts to login to. When you first fire up the app, you’ll be taken through a quick three frame tutorial that tells you about everything you should know to use Climatip. I.e. how to read the background color, icon, and the text tip that tells you what to wear. The background color varies with outside temperature. Beyond that, there is nothing else in this app to learn.

Once you tap ‘start’, the app queries weather info and provide you the first recommendation. All it tells you is the outside weather through an icon and temperature from background color. Also, it provides a general tip such as ‘a baseball cap would be handy’. However, Climatip app does not have any widget support. A widget would have been handy to read the climate info right from the home screen without having to open the app. Also, missing is forecasts for the days or perhaps for the week ahead. In places with rapid climatic changes, current weather info might not have much bearing on the climate 24 hours later. The app takes up 9 MB RAM.

Conclusion

Climatip app for Android is remarkably simple weather app that tells just one thing – the present climate and a tip on to what to wear for the day. The UI is minimalistic and there aren’t any settings to configure or login. Lack of widget support and weather forecast feature is a bit of a downer though. Verdict: If you’re looking for a minimalist weather app, try this one.
