Comic Chameleon App for iPhone Review
If you still have the child in you and loves reading comics, try the webcomics app for iPhone, Comic Chameleon. Using Comic Chameleon app for iPhone, you can view comics’ full page or have a panel-to-panel viewing as per your preference. You can download Comic Chameleon iPhone app free from iTunes App Store.
Comic Chameleon App Features
Comic Chameleon app for iPhone is pretty user friendly. You simply tap to navigate every single webcomic strip or page from panel-to-panel, with each tap gliding to the next panel cleanly cropped and zoomed for maximum readability. Tap the left or right side of the screen to go to the previous or next panel; Swipe to go to the previous or next episode. Also, you can share your favorite episodes by email, Twitter, or Facebook.
The best part is that iPhone Comic Chameleon app makes a lot easier to navigate to a webcomic archive or find a comic by its publication date. Most comic apps do not have such a feature. However, Comic Chameleon lacks a search feature. Hope it’ll be added in the future versions of the app. It would be great if one could search for titles or tags. Further, with Comic Chameleon for iPhone, you can view the full archives of every comic strip that is published through the app. There is no apparent delay between publication on the web and publication through Comic Chameleon. You can check the news tab for updates on new comics and app features.
At present, Comic Chameleon for iPhone has got about 25 comics. Hopefully, it will draw more comic creators to share their work through this platform. The app is compatible with iPhone OS 6.0 or higher. As Comic Chameleon being a free app, you got to put up with those annoying banner ads. And these ads can’t be removed by some in-app purchase either.
Final Thoughts
Comic Chameleon app for iPhone is your window to the world of webcomics. Even though it lacks a reliable search feature, the app still provides an excellent reading experience and a handle to its archives means you won’t take long to find your favorite strips. The news tab that displays the updates on comics and app features is a nice feature. The annoying banner ads placement certainly irritates few of us. Verdict: A worthy alternative to Google Reader, if you’re currently using it for your daily diet of webcomics.
