Fête app for iPhone allows you to gauge your friends’ interest in an activity or event before going ahead and confirming or booking it. Your friends can also suggest places to go, things to do and dates that works for them. Interestingly, they don’t need to have the app to respond. In other words, only the event manager got to have the app in his/her iPhone. The invitees get an SMS with details and they in turn can interact via text without ever needing to log in. But this is possible only in the US. For non-US numbers, they’ll receive a message, but can only reply via the app. As the event manager, you can send out invitations with a number of options; others can vote on day of the week –as per their convenience – or the choice of bar/restaurant or suggestion for another venue. Once all the votes have been made, the event organizer can confirm the date/venue, and then inform all the participating guests. In fact, event managers can either ‘Pick’ a place if you know the where/when already or ‘Poll’ for place/date among guests to receive votes.
Of course, poll is not about giving all the suggestion rights to your friends. You can always suggest options for Where and suggest options for When. The UI is well designed. It is very easy to set up an event and invite your friends. Performance wise, the app is stable and responsive. Fête app requires iOS 8.0 or higher.
