Go Contacts Ex app for Android is a worthy substitute for its native contacts application. It simplifies the contacts and dialer usage, alongside adding lots more additional features over the stock app. Go Contacts Ex application can be downloaded for free from Android Market.

The App

Go Contacts EX Android app got a very user friendly interface that is easy to navigate around. There are four icons at the bottom – dial pad, contacts, groups and favorites. The last three gives access to the different options by which the user could organize contacts. Users can either click on the respective icons to access the screens corresponding to the same, or simply flip on the screen, wherein the screens corresponding to each of the icon appear successively in a three-dimensional look and feel.

Creating a group and adding contacts to the same is a breeze. Go Contacts EX Android app lets you have separate ring tones for each group as you wish. Further, the groups created can be reordered the way you want by simply clicking on the three line icon and dragging it to the required position. Similarly, you can add frequently called contacts in the ‘favorites’ list. Simply tap on the ‘+’ icon to add a contact. Those who’ve played enough with the default contact app of Android won’t find any trouble in choosing and adding contacts at will in Go Contacts EX. Alternatively, from the contact menu, click on the ‘heart’ icon on the right of the screen to add a contact under ‘favorites’.

The dialer icon works like a typical Android dialer, albeit a little faster than the stock app.
Most other features of Go Contacts EX are similar to the stock app. But unlike the latter, you can search a particular contact in Go Contacts EX by their emails. Also, the app provides an option wherein you can opt to have only those contacts that have got a phone number keyed in their respective profiles to be visible in the contacts list. This feature comes handy as Android OS usually adds contacts from Gmail address book as well, in which case those with email IDs also make it inadvertently to the contact list.

Final Thoughts

Go Contacts EX app for Android is certainly a useful contacts application you can confidently download from the Android Market Place. It effectively duplicates the Android stock app with the same feature, but with few additional features such as email search, and an option to hide contact profiles without a phone number. Our advice: Try it out, and see how the Go Contacts EX application appeals to you.
