LocalUncle app for iPhone gives you the ability to ask questions about your city, its neighborhoods and places and get real-time responses from people who are there right now. Your questions are sent to users who are at the location you’re asking about and hopefully they’ll reply in kind. It is like having your friends in a bar, restaurant, store or in the neighborhood who is all willing to help you out anytime.
LocalUncle iPhone app provides info about hotspots – from nightclubs and restaurants to parks, salons and even national monuments. You just tap on the pin on the map to reveal address, phone nos., or even how many patrons are there now. You can also view queries asked by people in the past regarding the place. Nothing prevents you from asking fresh questions either. If you find poking on the map a bit awkward, you can search by neighborhood so that you’ll get area-specific results.
LocalUncle app protects your privacy all the time you use it. It won’t reveal your location information to others. The app doesn’t show your position on the map to others. Nobody knows where you are, unless you explicitly tell people your location. The only thing the app shows are names of places, neighborhoods, and cities and the amount (again no names!) of users at these places. On the downside, sometimes we got the feel that it is taking a bit for the pins to load. Also not all pins were visible at maximum zoom. Otherwise, the user interface is easy to use.
