Poynt app for iPhone is a local search tool that’ll help you find nearby eat outs, get gas, conduct business, see a show etc. Aside from providing weather info, it also let you look up a person by his/her name, phone no. or address. The app got a simple UI that is easy to navigate. However, the biggest downside of Poynt for iPhone is that it is not really tailor-made for international travelers. For example, the Offers feature is only work in the US. Also, we wish the GPS were a bit more precise. When we tested it, even though it got our present location, the street no. was way off. You may also have a different opinion on the design of the UI even though it is just a matter of taste.
If you can overlook the above-said shortcomings, Poynt iPhone app can be a useful application to have. It is like a Swiss knife of travel and local search apps. For example, you can learn about the weather conditions in your area, find a place to have a bite and look up local places to catch a concert within a matter of seconds.
