Resultly App for iPhone Review
Resultly app for iPhone provides real-time or periodic news/shopping updates to uses based on their preferences. Through the app, you can follow virtually any interest you have from across the internet and be notified in real-time of new information or changes about your interest. Resultly iPhone app can be downloaded for free.
Resultly App Features
To start with, you got to sign in with Facebook or email. Now comes the annoying part: you got to select five out of the 15 interests before you can move along. Of course, you can delete those five once you’ve moved further into iPhone Resultly app. But to force you to do so first is definitely uncalled for.
From within Resultly app for iPhone, you can pick your categories such as travel, news, housing, jobs, products, books, deals, social, or media. By adding something to your interest list, you can be notified, literally to the minute, as soon as something is posted on the web that matches your interest and the criteria you specified. It’s like Google Alerts but streaming in real-time, and for more content other than just news. It’s a traditional search engine, rethought. The Resultly app supports push notifications for all your interests to literally let you keep your finger on the pulse of what is going on.
For product interests, the app returns results from Bay, Walmart, Target, Craigslist, Gilt, Woot, ShopSavvy, Sears, newegg, Amazon, BestBuy, and Zappos. Similarly, for daily interests, you can view results from Groupon, LivingSocial, Amazon Local, and Scoutmob, to name some of them.
However, the real-time performance of Resultly is a bit off the mark. While political news are reliable, entertainment news is not reliable so does some of the dining deals. The user interface is a bit clunky as well. Also, the app could inundate your inbox with lots of spammy notifications even if you adjust the notification settings to receive fewer emails. The app is compatible with iPhone OS versions 5.1 or later.
Final Thoughts
Resultly app for iPhone is a fantastic concept, but poorly executed. For the user, it is a 50-50 chance whether he/she likes it or not. The sort of spamming notifications is not helping matters either. The UI also needs improvement. However, it returns reliable results in few of the categories. Verdict: Try it out and see how it appeals to you.
