Sketch Pad 3 Unlimited Canvas iPhone App Review

| January 11, 2016 | 2 Comments

Sketch Pad 3 – Unlimited Canvas app for iPhone appears to be a sketch pad and notepad wrapped into one. As a consequence, you can even take notes using the sketching tools. Sketch Pad 3 – Unlimited Canvas can be downloaded for free from iPhone App Store.

Features

The biggest surprise we’d encountered on opening Sketch Pad 3 – Unlimited Canvas for iPhone was that the sketching options it had is limited at best. It features just one pen and options for customizing its colors. There are no alternative pen styles or shape options to select from. Of course, it does have few emoji clipart and a vast canvas to sketch on. Otherwise, sketching options are somewhat limited. So, we should assume that developers had designed Sketch Pad 3 Unlimited for Android more as a note taking app. Users can easily add notes to the canvass either with its pen tool or Insert Text option. Using the insert text option, you can pick from a multitude of fonts and an underline formatting option. Further, you can add check boxes, voice notes, pictures and alarms to notes. Strangely, you can’t add italic or bold formatting to the text. You can also add grids to notes, as well as customizing their background color. However, lacking is password protection option and calendar functionality.

Sketch Pad 3 Unlimited Canvas iPhone App Review

Sketch Pad 3 – Unlimited Canvas iPhone app is user friendly. Your notes appear as thumbnails and you can delete them anytime by tapping on the ‘x’ at the top-left corner of each thumbnail. You can organize notes by folders, if you happen to have lots of notes to manage. Further, Sketch Pad 3 automatically saves your work on closing the application so you can instantly continue next time you open the app. Most options relating to a note can be found on the toolbar at the bottom of the note. You can learn about the different features and options of Sketch Pad 3 – Unlimited Canvas from the user guide.

Conclusion

Sketch Pad 3 – Unlimited Canvas for iPhone is not an especially great sketch app. Instead, it’ll be more useful as a note taking app. The app is easy to use. The absence of bold/italic formatting options is baffling, so is the lack of a calendar tool. The app is ad-supported. Even though you can get rid of the ads through IAP, the price tag of £8.99 seems a bit ridiculous as no extra features are added to the app in the process. To sum it up, it doesn’t hurt to check out the free version of the app. But the price of IAP does not make any sense at all.
