SOS – Stay Safe! App Features
SOS – Stay Safe! for Android lets you send out SOS alerts to friends and family quickly, as soon as you sense danger. The alert is triggered by shaking the device using a customizable shake limit. The inconspicuous shake gesture allows you to get help effortlessly without raising any suspicion. The app sends an emergency message, the user’s location, device battery level, and a recorded audio clip of the situation to chosen contact with just a shake of the device. The one minute audio recording of your situation helps recipients know the kind of danger you’re in. The GPS tracking helps recipients track you if you are being moved to a different location against your will.
On opening SOS – Stay Safe! Android app, you’ll be promoted to enter a four-digit passcode, followed by the contacts of the people you would like to alert upon an emergency. You can optionally link your Gmail account to the app. By doing so, your Gmail account will be used to send emergency emails alongside the text messages sent by the app. Finally, you got to set the ‘shaker limit’, the extend up to which you got to shake your phone to trigger an alert. Once done this much, you’re ready to go. If you manage to fire up the app in an emergency, you’ll see a large red alert button. Tapping it will begin recording and sending the distress signal to the list of added contacts. But if you’re unable to use the app directly, simply shake the phone to trigger the alert. The app is compatible Android OS 2.3+.
