If you love rhythm and music games, you might want to know more about Symphonica app for iPhone. It is a tap based rhythm game developed by SquareEnix. Its first three chapters are free to try out.

Symphonica App Features

Symphonica app for iPhone is basically a musical conducting game. Its breezy controls and tightly integrated game play give you a taste of what it’s like to be an up-and-coming conductor via a wholly unique gaming experience. The controls revolve around either one-finger or two-finger gestures including tapping, holding, creating arcs with one’s fingertips, flicking, or making pinching gestures. You can make the said gestures anywhere on the screen and on any orientation as you please.

In Symphonica iPhone app, you are Takt, a novice conductor with hopes of one day conducting an orchestra in the renowned King Hall. He’s in charge of Fayharmonic, an orchestra on the verge of collapse. You have to take the orchestra to the very top. The story happens in Einsatz, the city of music, wherein talented musicians from around the world flock here with dreams of performing in King Hall at the top of Concerto Tower, which stands tall over the city.

Symphonica App for iPhone

The city feels a bit superfluous at times. The characters are interesting but lack some of the emotional resonance of classical Square RPG titles. As mentioned, the first three chapters are free to try out. After that, you got to play so as to unlock the rest of the levels. You got to pay $14.99 to unlock the whole game plus some bonus episodes. The whole game has 12 chapters. We feel that the price is a bit steep. Hence it will be a good idea to play the first few chapters before deciding to upgrade further. Symphonica app is compatible with iOS versions 5.0 or later.

Conclusion

If you love music games and is a fan of SquareEnix, Symphonica app for iPhone is bound to please you. The controls are intuitive, yet a challenge to execute. The story is enjoyable and you got a real task at hand. However, the pricing seems a bit unreasonably steep, especially given the short play time. The graphics are decent enough, if not great. Well, the game has got some amount of replay value as well. Verdict: Check it out.
