TypeShift iPhone Game App Review

| March 29, 2017 | 2 Comments

TypeShift for iPhone is a modernized word puzzle game that will keep you scratching your brains. It is essentially an anagram puzzle, re-imagined from the ground up, combining wordplay and modern game play dynamics. You can get TypeShift app for free of cost from iTunes App Store.

Best Anagram Type Puzzle Game

TypeShift game for iPhone has a simple aesthetic. There isn’t too much graphics either, it being a word puzzle game. The default color palette is nice, as it features a dark blue background with a nice range of soft pastels to richer tones. The animations are slick and smooth. There is plenty of haptic feedback if you’re playing the game in your iPhone 7/7+. The soothing click noises as you slide the tiles is oddly satisfying. In most anagram games, you search for new combinations within a single word, but in Typeshift, you search within three to five words stacked and scrambled up together. Shift columns of letters up and down as you try to spell words in the center row. When you spell out a proper word, the letters will change color and bounce, which is a subtle indication that you’re making progress. Play continues until you have used all letters in a puzzle at least once. You can check your progress at the top-right of your iPhone screen.

TypeShift game is level based with hundreds of puzzles spread out across a myriad of “packs,” which are essentially chapters with tasty names. The download comes with 100 puzzles. Further, there are daily puzzles and this provides a great way to compete for the fastest times across the globe, if you’re the competitive type. If you are stuck somewhere, you can make use of the hints. But the available hints are limited, even though you have an option to get more through IAP.

Conclusion

TypeShift for iPhone is an anagram-type of word game with a dash of word search thrown into the mix. The result is a fun and challenging puzzler that tests your vocabulary as well as analytical skills. The visuals are simple and clean and the sound effects fun to listen to. The game mechanics is different enough to stand out among other word games in the market. We found the app to be stable and responsive as well. Overall, a nice and engaging word game worth checking out.
