Steller for iPhone is one of the best social networking applications doing the rounds on the App Store. It is designed by Mombo Labs, which has fetched an impressive rating of 12+ and more than 1000 constructive feedbacks in a short span of time. The app has secured numerous accolades as “One of the Best Apps of 2014” by Apple and App Store Editors’ Choice and a Best New App. It’s a free app.

Simple UI and Innovative design

Steller for iPhone provides a minimalistic design that comes across as elegant and sleek. Once after successful installation, the launch of app greeted a user with a ‘Storyline’ that features stories from whoever one follow — sort of like a Facebook newsfeed. The other tab features ‘Collections’ — categories of stories which one can also follow. The app lets a user create stories by simply combining photos, videos and text saved in the gallery. However, it isn’t instantly noticeable where one can tap to create a new story; one has to access it via a dropdown menu. It relies heavily on gestures to let you move around your media and text. Steller iPhone app provides multiple channels to share stories as instant articles on Facebook or to put it on the blog/websites and even via email or SMS. Besides this, it lets a user to follow favorite users and topics and discover new cover stories on innumerable topics as travel, actions, photography, animation and food. It supports eight languages, which includes English, German and French. The app requires iOS 8.0 or later. It is compatible with all versions of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

The USP of Steller for iPhone is to let users interact with stories, by leaving comments and using hashtags. Also, both hashtags and @mentions work in the comments and within the stories themselves, allowing users to reference other topics or other creators, connecting the stories in more of a social networking structure. The only snag of the app is to edit a published story as the process is not straightforward as one has to navigate to profile and use the pencil icon. Overall, the app features outweigh its zero cost, so it’s a must-have app to create stories and share among the peer group.
