Vaulty Free for Android

Vaulty Free is an app that hides videos and pictures in your gallery.  This is a great app to protect your valuable memories if your phone is stolen or lost.  Furthermore, if there are pics or videos that you don’t want a snooping significant other or one of your kids to see, then you simply conceal it with this app and there you go.  Have you ever shown one of your coworkers a picture that they just had to see, but then when scrolling through you came across one that you wish they hadn’t seen?  Vaulty protects you from that kind of embarrassment.  Vaulty uses a password to unlock your videos and pictures so that you can see them at anytime.

This is a feature that should really have come standard with the Android OS, but it is great that this app figured out how to do it and provides a much needed feature.  If you are worried that the app uploads your pics or videos somewhere to hide them, don’t be.  It simply stores it on the SD card and protects permissions to viewing the media.  This is not a new thing, it is found on most OS’s for Mac and PCs.

6/10, this is a good utility app, nothing special other than the powerful feature that it provides.  It is a great app to add to your tool box apps.

Conclusion:

If you value your privacy then Vaulty Free is a great app to download.  It protects your pictures and videos from prying eyes or accidental exposure to your friends, family or co-workers.  There is a paid version that adds some additional features, but the free version is really useful and feature rich on its own.  Protecting any of the pics that you don’t want anyone to see is a great idea and for the price, there’s really nothing to lose from the download.  This isn’t just meant for naughty pictures and videos, it should also be applied to family videos and any personal pics or videos.  If your phone should be lost or is stolen, leaving those pics and videos unprotected could lead to a dangerous situation.

Imaging that you made a video of the inside of our home; a walking tour for example.  If that video were to get into the hands of a thief, on top of your contacts and schedules stored on your phone; you are essentially giving that thief a blueprint of how to steal from your home.  Security is important and using Vaulty Free is a good way to add another element of protection to you and your family.
