BlackBerry® Travel™ is an app that makes it a lot easier to manage travel.  You can setup your entire itinerary including flights, managing rental cars, mileage, hotel bookings, really anything associated with traveling can be kept up with in this feature rich and incredibly helpful free app.  One of the nicest features is that the app will scan your emails for any itineraries’ that are emailed and send them right over to your BlackBerry.  Even more powerful is the logic that the app uses to identify any gaps in your travel plans.  If there is a hotel booking that does not cover enough days it will notify you immediately and even recommend actions to take and hotels to stay at.

If your flight becomes delayed or anything changes with the flight connections, BlackBerry Travel sends you an alert so that you can plan accordingly.  Along with these great flight and hotel booking features are other useful programs that a traveler might use on a daily basis while away from home.  Included are the weather forecast, local search and a currency converter.

Another feature that comes in handy is the BlackBerry Travel notification system.  This allows you to notify whomever you wish about your travel plans.  It will send an easy to follow itinerary so that your business associates or family can know where you will be along every leg of your travels.  This is a real time saving app that is great for those that travel on a regular basis.

Conclusion:

 

We are giving the Blackberry Travel App 9 out of 10.  The app still has some minor bugs as far as the weather reporting, but other than that, we have found the app to be incredibly useful.  There are a lot of fantastic and helpful features packed into the app and there is still room to improve.  Some of the prices in the shop are obviously boosted up and not at all the fault of the developer, however it would be nice to have more shopping options.  Booking a hotel, flight or rental car is very easy with the app and because it is all tied together it really takes away a lot of the worry about forgetting something for the trip.

 

If the developers keep up with this app it will be a permanent fixture to our Blackberry.  Free is always a great price, so check this app out if you do a lot of travelling.  The app really has it all and even has a good looking and easy to use interface.
